Ask for a distribution and a method
Confirm the sieve convention, particle distribution and relevant limits for fines or oversized material. Distinguish guaranteed release requirements from typical characterization.
Keep moisture and flow behavior separate from particle size. Faster visual wetting can accompany dusting or surface gel formation in unsuitable equipment; a larger particle can require a different preparation allowance.
Describe the physical handling route
Provide the bag or bulk-bag discharge station, hopper, feeder range, water flow, wetting device and working tank sequence. Include humidity and seasonal water temperature.
Check low-rate delivery as well as peak demand. Record weighed output, pulsing, buildup and manual intervention rather than relying only on feeder speed or nominal capacity.
Qualify prepared stock and process response
Use the proposed commercial code under product-specific instructions. Record actual mass, water quantity, concentration, mixing and usable age, then test the resulting stock on representative feed.
Do not treat the disappearance of dry particles as proof of full hydration. Fisheyes or deposits can make the effective dose uncertain even when the total powder mass appears correct.
Keep packaging in the trial
A repacked laboratory sample may not represent commercial discharge, compression and humid exposure. Ask whether production-representative packaging should be included before committing to a larger format.
The document comparison should separate a general powder description from the exact preparation and release requirements agreed for the order.
A feeder compatibility release sheet
Record package, lot, actual powder rate, water condition, stock age, visible defects and accepted separation result together. A smooth hopper alone is not a pass if the polymer fails the treatment endpoint.
