Specify the product and package together

Ask for the proposed unit weight, packaging construction and closure for the specific grade. Powder and liquid handling arrangements are not interchangeable. Confirm whether pallets are included and whether the destination requires particular pallet materials or documentation.

Check the receiving equipment: forklift access, lifting limits, doorway clearance and transfer arrangements. A package that fits a transport plan can still be impractical at the plant. Confirm safe handling with the responsible local team.

Review the loading assumptions

Request the proposed package count, pallet count, net and gross weight and approximate dimensions. Ask which vehicle or container assumptions support the proposal. Do not treat a nominal container size as confirmation that any particular polymer tonnage can be shipped.

Route restrictions, equipment limits and cargo arrangement can affect the permissible load. Freight and loading details require confirmation with qualified logistics providers for the actual booking. Keep changes visible when the package design or order quantity changes.

Make labels useful at goods receipt

Agree the product code, batch reference, net contents and applicable handling information. Link the packing list to the shipment and relevant lot documents. Ask how multiple batches will be identified when a single order contains more than one.

Labels should support traceability after units are separated from their pallet. Do not accept an anonymous repackaging arrangement without understanding how identity and handling information will be preserved.

Protect the handover to the warehouse

Inspect for damage, moisture exposure, leaking containers or broken closures before releasing material to use. Document discrepancies promptly, segregate questionable units and follow product-specific safety instructions for spills or damaged packaging.

Connect photographs and package counts to the receipt record. The batch acceptance procedure should identify who can release or quarantine material. Use the export planning discussion to resolve package and document requirements before dispatch, not after arrival.
